چکیده
A durable molecular photocathode driving CO2 reduction with over 1200 of turnover number was developed by electropolymerization Ru(ii) complexes. The cell a suitable photoanode enabled H2O oxidation no bias for 24 h.

Visible light driven photoelectrochemical water oxidation on nitrogen-modified TiO2 nanowires.
We report hydrothermal synthesis of single crystalline TiO(2) nanowire arrays with unprecedented small feature sizes of ~5 nm and lengths up to 4.4 μm on fluorine-doped tin oxide substrates. A substantial amount of nitrogen (up to 1.08 atomic %) can be incorporated into the TiO(2) lattice via nitridation in NH(3) flow at a relatively low temperature (500 °C) because of the small cross-section o...
متن کاملVisible light-driven water oxidation with a subporphyrin sensitizer and a water oxidation catalyst.
A new subporphyrin was synthesized for use as a molecular sensitizer in electrochemical and dye-sensitized photoelectrochemical water oxidation. A photoelectrochemical cell with a TiO2 electrode modified with the sensitizer and a molecular water oxidation catalyst generated higher photocurrent than reference cells that have electrodes modified with either the photosensitizer or the catalyst und...
متن کاملHybrid photocathode consisting of a CuGaO2 p-type semiconductor and a Ru(ii)-Re(i) supramolecular photocatalyst: non-biased visible-light-driven CO2 reduction with water oxidation.
A CuGaO2 p-type semiconductor electrode was successfully employed for constructing a new hybrid photocathode with a Ru(ii)-Re(i) supramolecular photocatalyst (RuRe/CuGaO2). The RuRe/CuGaO2 photocathode displayed photoelectrochemical activity for the conversion of CO2 to CO in an aqueous electrolyte solution with a positive onset potential of +0.3 V vs. Ag/AgCl, which is 0.4 V more positive in c...
متن کاملMolecular water-oxidation catalysts for photoelectrochemical cells.
Photoelectrochemical cells that efficiently split water into oxygen and hydrogen, "the fuel of the future", need to combine robust water oxidation catalysts at the anode (2H(2)O --> O(2) + 4H(+) + 4e(-)) with hydrogen reduction catalysts at the cathode (2H(+) + 2e(-)--> H(2)). Both sets of catalysts will, ideally, operate at low overpotentials and employ light-driven or light-assisted processes...
متن کاملA photoelectrochemical device for visible light driven water splitting by a molecular ruthenium catalyst assembled on dye-sensitized nanostructured TiO2.
A photoelectrochemical device with a molecular Ru catalyst assembled via pH-modified Nafion on a dye-sensitized nanostructured TiO(2) film as anode and a Pt foil as cathode has been successfully demonstrated to split water into O(2) and H(2) driven by visible light.
